In the sexually repressive and snobbish decorum of a Jane Austen 1830's rural England, a young aristocrat arrives home to shock his family by announcing his intended marriage to a mysterious girl he has met while touring the Greek islands, little realising she is about to unleash a plague of gruesomely obscene killings.

Asked to write and direct a new kind of "monster" film as part of a two-picture deal for United Artists, Michael Armstrong's graphically sexual and violent disturbing exploration into the darker side of female desires would almost certainly have equalled his earlier Mark Of The Devil for controversy and outrage had it appeared in public cinemas. The screen play published here is in its original uncut form together with a writing history, production intentions, and the reasons why, finally, it was never made. Foreword by Justin Richards.
